OUR TRAINING PROGRAMME
Hogan & Hartson is seeking to recruit three trainees to start in September 2010 and a further three to start in September 2011. We have an extensive practice in London and as such trainees will have at least four “seats” and will spend six months in three core areas — corporate, litigation, and property. It may also be possible to spend time in one of our teams such as tax, employment, and competition. Trainees will sit with a senior lawyer and will be exposed to work from everyone in their department, with appropriate support and supervision. Feedback on your performance will be provided on an ongoing basis. Trainees will also have formal reviews three months into their seat and again at the end of the seat. Hogan & Hartson has an established corporate training program in which trainees are encouraged to participate in addition to attending Professional Skills Courses.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
We are looking for bright, energetic, and committed people from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. Personality and enthusiasm are key, as you will be expected to take responsibility and show initiative at an early stage, of course with appropriate supervision. Trainees should have a minimum 2:1 degree and 3 A-levels at A and B grade. Trainees would be expected to pass the LPC and the GDL at the first attempt.
We would like people who can demonstrate a real interest in us and the law but we also like involvement in outside interests particularly those involving teamwork. We like to keep in contact with our future trainees, and as you continue with your studies, you will be invited to all our social events and will be encouraged to meet up with our lawyers on a regular basis.
