Hogan & Hartson is the choice of life sciences industry leaders. More than 3,100 life sciences companies, trade and industry associations, academic institutions, and hospitals have come to us with their toughest and most complex legal and strategic challenges. Our deep bench in virtually every discipline and industry sector, our knowledge of and contacts with U.S., European, and Asian government agencies, and our ability to help clients operate in or expand into the United States, Europe, China, and Japan enables us to help our clients act strategically and achieve their long-term business objectives.
With more than 170 lawyers serving the life sciences industry, we have one of the largest and most comprehensive life sciences practices in the world. Our well-known FDA and health practice groups are long-standing market leaders. Our full-service intellectual property practice includes more than 40 registered patent lawyers, many of whom hold Ph.Ds or Master’s degrees in the life sciences, and an IP litigation team of more than 50 lawyers who have handled cases involving some of the most complex technologies. Our business and finance lawyers are cross-disciplinary and know how to integrate regulatory and IP concerns with successful business strategy. Our litigation team has represented life sciences companies in a wide variety of matters, including products liability litigation, contract and licensing disputes, administrative proceedings, white collar matters, and labeling and false advertising claims.
Our government contract lawyers know how to help clients navigate through the highly complex environment of procurement laws of the U.S. federal government, the world's single largest consumer of many types of goods and services. Our legislative practice group assists clients in all aspects of the legislative process, including lobbying members of the U.S. Congress and appointed and career officials in the executive branch of the U.S. federal government, as well as their respective staffs. And our antitrust and competition, bioterrorism, immigration, environmental law, corporate governance, tax, securities, and tax-exempt organizations practices also regularly serve life sciences clients.
Our international, multidisciplinary team of lawyers can work together to assure that clients’ business strategies are in line with their food and drug regulatory, IP, reimbursement, tax, and other strategies — and that all of those strategies will work in every market in which our clients do business.
