Sean Gallagher has more than 20 years of courtroom experience and has handled a broad range of complex litigation matters, including commercial, employment, and public policy matters. He has handled commercial and corporate litigation matters involving claims for fraud and misrepresentation, securities fraud, antitrust violations, consumer protection violations, trademark and copyright infringements, environmental whistleblowing, violations of the False Claims Act, and corporate governance disputes.
Sean also represents employers in state and federal courts in cases involving allegations of employment discrimination, federal and state civil rights violations, Sarbanes-Oxley violations, retaliatory discharge, breach of contract, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) violations, Section 1983 claims, and libel and slander. He has extensive experience in matters involving personal employment agreements for executives and other highly skilled employees, representing both individuals and employers.
Sean has also handled a broad spectrum of public policy, voting rights litigation, and First Amendment Speech and Free Exercise of Religion matters. He has represented the Governor of Colorado in the state’s congressional redistricting litigation, a U.S. Congressman in a congressional race recount, and members of the White House advance team and the Vice President’s Secret Service protective detail in First Amendment retaliation cases. He also frequently represents clients bringing constitutional and statutory challenges to federal agency actions.
Sean is one of two managing editors of The Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Employment Law, published by the Colorado Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer on litigation-related topics. In 2000, he was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to a six-year term on the Colorado Supreme Court Nominating Commission, which fills the vacancies on the Colorado Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.
